We've lost over 98% of our Canebrakes the past 250 years. Wysor Ecological Services has been planting River Cane since the spring of 2009.

In 2025 we planted over 475 River cane clumps for a single client, and prefer to transplant cane between November and March whenever possible. We recommend supplemental watering any week 1” of rainfall is not received.

We have over 400 parent plants drawn from 6 different native Jefferson Co., Kentucky and Clark County, Indiana wild ecotype populations.

Whether used as an excellent privacy screen, accents against home, a fencerow planting for cattle, or forage for deer, Cane is a highly nutritious grass in the bamboo family, preferred by animals.

Canebrakes filter pollution, capture runoff, and can support over 70 species of wildlife.
